About Us

Program Description

Our Mission – To provide an effective network to coordinate resources and efforts to reduce and erase alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) abuse and problems that it brings to the community of Allen County.

 

Our Vision – To provide a centralized intelligence, communication and coordination of diverse resources and effort to mobilize family and/or other personal support systems to prevent and alleviate alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse.

 

Our Approaches

  • Community solutions require unified community collaboration.

  • Diversified resources and interventions are required for successful impact.

  • Research and data-driven methods are required to assure effectiveness.

  • Centralized information, resources, and coordination is the most efficient approach.

 

Programs & Accomplishments

  • Convene dialogue of more than 100 individuals via six to eight interest-focused committee meetings on a monthly basis. These committees are comprised of individuals with specific interest in the issue address by that group. Committees include prevention, intervention, justice, higher education, and youth issues.

  • Develop and maintain an active database on the scope of substance abuse including prevention, treatment and assessment of the issues surrounding this concern.

  • Receives and manages program grants from

  • Indiana Criminal Justice Institute – Drug Free Indiana

  • Drug Free Communities

  • Strategic Prevention Framework – State Incentive Grant

  • Access to Recovery

  • Provide training and resources for community organizations, teachers, youth and parents, law enforcement and legislators.

  • Assemble school, after-school and collegiate groups to discuss and implement programs that address drug and alcohol issues as they relate to our youth.
