Meet the DAC Team | DAC Allen County Drug & Alcohol Consortium

MaryClare Akers, MSW, LSW, Executive Director

MaryClare has been with DAC since July of 2018. She has worked in behavioral health, child welfare, and with women in crisis over her career. She is a social worker, mother, ally, and advocate. She hopes to impact community level change in Allen County to improve the skills and capacity of the public servants, treatment providers, volunteers and educators who are working to end the drug crisis through collaboration, prevention education, and strategic planning.
 

Cherie Burke, Director of Operations, Grants & Finance

Cherie has been with DAC for 15 years this summer (2019)! She has served the community as a volunteer as well as an incredible addition to the DAC organization. Cherie orchestrates the collection of data regarding youth and young adult underage drinking and misuse of substances, she organizes agency budgets and finances and oversees grant reporting and implementation. 
 

LaDonna Johnson, Project Assistant, DFC

LaDonna has been with DAC since January of 2019. She is a Human Services student at Purdue Fort Wayne and she is the project assistant for the Drug Free Communities grant. LaDonna is working to organize community leaders to join in the movement towards the promotion of wellness physically and mentally among our youth. 
 

Monique Johnson, Project Coordinator, DFC

Monique Johnson is the newest addition to the DAC team, having started in August of 2019. She has experience in working with youth and community systems to build upon the strengths of young people with significant barriers to success. She is compassionate and dedicated to improving the outcomes for youth in the Allen County community. She is the Drug Free Communities Project Coordinator and she will work with a 12-Sector Coalition to build a comprehensive community plan to combat youth substance use and underage drinking and plan for a healthy community for our youth, families, and schools. 
 

Tanya McKinney, Program Implementation and Data Specialist

Tanya has been with DAC since Fall of 2018 and she is the resident expert in data collection and dissemination and she provides technical assistance to organizations and schools working with youth in the Allen County community. Tanya encourages providers to reach their highest potential in primary prevention efforts, educating those providers on evidenced-based program implementation and putting the data produced to good use in their service to youth. Tanya is DAC's only remote worker and she is located in Tampa, Florida. She is easily reached by email or by calling DAC.
 

Darcy Robins, Program Development Specialist

Darcy has been with DAC since Fall of 2018. Darcy is a graduate student at the Indiana University School of Social Work and they serve as the program development specialist for primary prevention programming in Allen County. Darcy is an excellent resource for providers of youth services in connecting resources, assessing organizational needs and developing a plan for programming that fits the capacity of the organization they are serving. Darcy is a community volunteer and organizer, working to improve outcomes for youth experiencing homelessness, discrimination, and trauma.
